History

Pharmia has over 30 years of experience in contract manufacturing of responsible, high quality and innovative food supplements and medical devices. Discover the highlights of our history below.

1993

• Pharmia is founded as Finland’s first contract manufacturer for pharmaceuticals and food supplements.

1998

• First products are produced for foreign markets.

2001

• Pharmia acquires Orion’s pharmaceutical factory in Seinäjoki, Finland and establishes an analytical laboratory.

2004

• Decision is made to focus on the development and manufacturing of food supplements.
• The Seinäjoki factory is sold.

2013

• The first CE-labeled products are launched.

2021

• The Finnish private equity firm CapMan becomes Pharmia’s main owner.

2022

• Pharmia is among the first companies in Finland to receive certification in accordance with EU MDR 2017/745.

2023

• Pharmia celebrates its 30th anniversary. 
• The first sustainability report is published.

2024

• We renew our brand.
• Our new logo acts as a stamp of our quality.

2025

• Pharmia participates in the Vitafoods trade fair.
